We learned on october 21, 2003 that a big conference will be held in Grenoble in the same time as DocEng and that the most convenient hotels are already full.
However, three two-star hotels have agreed to book rooms for INRIA. The reservation is safe until November 3rd. For those who have not booked a hotel yet, please contact ASAP the hotels listed below (do not forget to say that you are coming for INRIA):

The INRIA Rhône-Alpes research unit is located within the ZIRST of Montbonnot (ZIRST stands for: Zone for Innovation and for Scientific and Technical Realizations), 10 km north-east of Grenoble.

Grenoble, the Capital of the French Alps, is an important information technology center with 3 universities, 7 schools of engineering, many research centers such as CNRS, INRIA CENG, Rank Xerox Research Centre Europe, and computer manufacturers, such as Bull, Schneider Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, and about 300 software companies.

While there are some small hotels near INRIA Rhone-Alpes, we recommend that you arrange accomodations in Grenoble's center, where the range of choices is greater and there are more restaurants and sites of touristic interest. It will be most convenient to book a room at a hotel that is near Grenoble's tram line B (see Transportation page for details). A list of hotels in Grenoble near that tram line appears below.
